What to know

What to expect from real estate photo & video

01

What sells from the air

Buyers respond to context the floor plan can't show. For residential acreage: aerial wide showing block boundaries, surrounding amenity, and proximity to water / town / road. For commercial: site layout, parking, loading access, surrounding tenancy mix. For rural: paddock layout, water points, fence lines, infrastructure. A reel that opens wide and pulls in through a key feature converts harder than a 12-frame interior carousel - and costs less than restaging the kitchen.

02

Stills, video, virtual tour, twilight

Stills: 8-15 finished aerial frames for the listing. Video: a 30-60 second cinematic reel for socials and the listing page. Virtual tour: 360° panoramas or a Matterport-equivalent walkthrough. Twilight: the dusk shoot with interior lights on - the highest-converting single shot for premium residential. Most premium listings want stills + video + twilight as a package; commercial usually skips twilight; rural usually wants extended ground-level coverage too.

03

Turnaround and timing

Standard turnaround is 5 business days from shoot to delivered files. Priority (48 hours) and same-day options cost more but are realistic - most operators turn around edits inside 24 hours when needed. Shoot timing matters: golden hour either side of sunrise/sunset gives the best light and shadow play. Weather contingency is built into reputable operators' bookings.

04

Compliance, neighbours and access

Drone operators need clear airspace, line-of-sight, and consideration of neighbours' privacy. Listings in dense suburbs or near airports may need site-specific CASA approvals - operators handle this and flag any restrictions in the bid. Brief the operator on any neighbour-sensitivity, schools or busy streets so they plan accordingly.

Real estate photo & video — frequently asked questions

Do you do interior photography too?+

Many real estate operators on Hangrr offer the full package - drone aerial plus ground-based interior stills and video. Brief the full scope and operators bid accordingly.

Can the listing agent be in the video?+

Yes - many operators offer a "presenter walkthrough" cut where the agent appears on camera at the front of the property. Add it to the brief.

Do you provide twilight shots?+

Most premium-residential operators do. Twilight requires a second visit (or staying at the site through dusk) so it adds to the shoot cost - typically 1.3-1.5x a standard daylight shoot.

What about edited social cuts (Instagram, TikTok)?+

Specify vertical / square cuts in the brief. Most operators include 2-3 social cuts as a standard add-on; longer edits or platform-specific formats (Reels intro, TikTok hook) priced separately.
